Toby Vaughan has joined Hargreaves Lansdown as chief investment officer, responsible for the investment strategy for all HL funds and strategies.

Vaughan, pictured, who joined at the end of May this year, was previously at Brown Shipley as group head of investment management, and prior to that he spent eight years at Santanter Asset Management.

He will be responsible for Hargreaves Lansdown’s 18 funds, which had £8.6bn of assets under administration at the end of March, including setting the investment philosophy and process, governance and risk and accountability for performance.

Ruchir Rodrigues, chief client and commercial officer at Hargreaves Lansdown highlighted Vaughan’s experience in centralised investment processes and work in transformation and scalability.

“The fund management business sits at the very heart of the growth element of our strategy, providing a wide range of investment solutions to help clients at every stage of their investing journey,” he said.
