Investors in £1bn trust reject ESG switch

Hans Hirt, who runs the Equity Ownership Services at Hermes, a company that represents pension funds and asset managers in their discussions on ESG issues with company management, said the issues cited by clients concerned about ESG constantly changes.

He said: “We have clients ask for a range of different priorities all the time. In terms of demand, I do think there is a generational issue, with younger people more focused on these issues.” 

But Brian Dennehy, who runs Dennehy Weller and Fundexpert.co.uk for private investors, said: “We have seldom or never had any demand for ESG funds, and that hasn’t changed recently.

"That includes advisory clients of Dennehy Weller and DIY investors of FundExpert."
