With regards to the top 10 holdings in the new fund, Mr Lowcock said : "It doesn’t have the look and feel of a core equity income portfolio and therefore investors will need to consider if it is right for them.
"With so much uncertainty around the potential performance of the fund going forward there are plenty of alternatives to choose from with strong track records.”
