For investors there is much uncertainty and we should expect heightened volatility to persist for some time yet. Running a portfolio in this type of environment requires discipline, patience and the emotional fortitude to not only tolerate short-term volatility in pursuit of long-term goals, but to take it on in instances where price action is at odds with fundamentals.
